Choose the almond reference before converting

Use your recipe's stated grams first. If it gives only US cups, choose a published reference matching the ingredient or brand; the calculator below always uses King Arthur almond flour at 96 g per US cup.

Convert with the recipe's actual almond-flour reference

The King Arthur ingredient weight chart lists its almond flour at 96 g per US cup and almond meal separately at 84 g. Bob's Red Mill's flour weight chart lists its almond flour at 112 g per cup. Use the recipe publisher's specified weight first, rather than averaging these different references.

For 1½ US cups, the named references yield 144 g (King Arthur almond flour), 126 g (King Arthur almond meal), or 168 g (Bob's Red Mill almond flour). For another amount, multiply the US cups by the selected grams per cup. The on-page calculator is fixed to King Arthur's 96 g/cup, so its output is not a conversion for the other rows.

For the reverse direction, divide grams by your selected reference: 168 g ÷ 112 g/cup = 1½ US cups using Bob's Red Mill, while 168 g ÷ 96 g/cup = 1¾ US cups with King Arthur's almond-flour setting. Treat the difference as a reference choice, not as an instruction to add or remove flour from an established recipe.

Check the grind before baking macarons or gluten-free cakes

The King Arthur almond flour guide explains that almond flour and almond meal names vary by brand and similar grinds may sometimes substitute; texture matters more than the name alone. A coarser grind can change the texture of delicate macarons or cakes even when the measured gram weight is correct.

If a recipe specifies fine blanched almond flour, match the grind and follow its stated gram quantity when provided. Otherwise spoon the selected product loosely into a dry US cup and level without pressing. A flour-to-meal swap or a wheat-flour substitution is not established merely by matching cup or gram amounts.
