Milk Cups to Grams
Before converting milk, choose the weight reference that fits your recipe: King Arthur Baking's chart uses 227 g/US cup; a USDA ARS dietary report uses approximately 244 g per cup of fluid milk. The selector below updates every calculator result. Use the recipe's stated grams if supplied.

227 grams per US cup
King Arthur Baking's fresh-milk baking-chart convention (227 g per US cup).
Which milk weight belongs in your recipe?
If you are following King Arthur Baking's fresh-milk chart, choose King Arthur in the selector: its 227 g/US cup convention makes 1½ cups 340.5 g. It is a published baking-chart reference, not the measured density of every milk carton.
If you need the approximate weight of fluid milk instead, the USDA Agricultural Research Service report states that a cup weighs about 244 g. Choose USDA ARS estimate: 1½ cups becomes approximately 366 g. That is 25.5 g more than the chart value, a 17 g difference per cup; neither number should be substituted without checking which reference your recipe uses.
For volume-only instructions, use a US liquid measuring cup rather than deriving grams. Both references concern fluid milk, not condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream or yogurt. When a recipe gives an explicit gram weight, use that weight instead of either approximate cup convention.
